Student of the Marking Period
2022-2023
A Caravel Academy teacher, Administrator, or Guidance Counselor may nominate Upper School students for Student of the Marking Period based on a student's demonstrated character traits in and out of the classroom, academic improvement and personal academic success, and/or their balance of extracurricular activities and academic responsibilities. All nominated students are reviewed by a committee of Caravel faculty and administration in which they chose a male and female student for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade for that marking period.

Suyash Singh and team win Diamond
Challenge HS Entrepreneurial Competition
Caravel Academy Sophomore Suyash Singh and his team won the regional pitch event of the Diamond Challenge High School Entrepreneurial Competition held at Clayton Hall (UD) on February 27, 2022. With this win, the team has advanced to the 2022 finals being held on April 21st. They pitched Chiron - a health literacy platform that uses interactive medical education, to empower & encourage inmates to take control of & manage their medical conditions.

2022 Scholastic Art Competition Winners!
Congratulations to Beth Chen and Angelina Legkodimov (Juniors) for their recognition in this prestigious competition - the "longest running recognition program for creative teens."
Beth received "Gold Key" awards for her submissions which automatically advance to national judging and will be on display as part of the Gold Key Award exhibition at the Arts Center/Gallery in Dover, January 24th - February 12th.
Angelina received honorable mention for "Maturity's Ignition - a pencil drawing.

Senator Tom Carper has nominated Samrath Singh (CA ‘22) to the United States Military Academy in West Point and the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis as one of his service academy nominees for the Class of 2026. Senator Carper stated about the nominees “these outstanding students demonstrate the kind of exceptional integrity, intelligence, and dedication that will equip them to become our nation’s future leaders.” Congratulations Samrath - we are SO proud of you!!
