Clubs and Activities
Caravel Academy offers a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities to enrich the school experience and to meet the talents and interests of our diverse population. These activities are conducted during the eighth period of the day or after-school. All students are encouraged to participate. Advisors direct these sessions to ensure that the students are given an opportunity to develop their skills, nurture their talents, learn to work together as a team, and grow in social confidence.
CSG - The Caravel Student Government is a group of students that are dedicated to managing a wide range of events, activities, programs, and initiatives around Caravel Academy. The main CSG members are elected by the student body, while the class officers are voted by their respective grades. We encourage all students to come and help the CSG execute initiatives, most notably Homecoming and our mashed potato and gift drives intended to help those in need.
Race Amity Club - The Race Amity Club focuses on the mission of studying and promoting racial amity through friendship, understanding and an open heart.
The Caravel Academy STEM Club is an incredibly productive and supportive environment in which students work together on building, repairing, and coding. Students work on various devices that are donated by the Caravel community. The club has worked on building a 3D printer and repairing devices like flatscreen TVs, servers, computers, and radios. If beyond repair, they disassemble. After disassembling, pieces are sent to the DSWA Newark Recycling Center. The club is looking for students who are interested in pursuing computer science or hope to explore STEM topics further. If you are interested in joining or making a donation, please email jolinda@caravel.org.
