Traditional American Values
Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship
Vertical Divider
Welcome to Caravel Academy!  I would like to personally welcome you whether you are visiting the website as a student, family member, faculty or prospective family.

Caravel Academy is a private college preparatory school nestled in the community of Bear, Delaware, and for over 30 years, we have been providing education for students in grades PreSchool through 12th grade.  Caravel Academy is a comfortable place for students to grow and achieve their potential.  We are interested in supporting the whole student and encourage students to grow academically but also socially, emotionally, athletically, and culturally by offering a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities and course offerings.  Students will also gain an appreciation for music and the arts.  Fourth grade students may choose to play a band or string instrument.

Our teachers and staff ensure that students are healthy, safe, encouraged, supported and challenged.  Qualified and caring faculty & staff encourage long-term student success.  Our three leading principles based on traditional American values are honesty, integrity and sportsmanship.

Honesty: Our students have high moral and ethical principles; they are trustworthy, reliable and caring.

Integrity: Our students’ act according to their values, beliefs and principles.  Their actions are consistent and they are supportive of others.

Sportsmanship:  Whether in sports or academics, our students respect others and are team players.  The focus is placed on reaching their potential as an individual or a team rather than the sole focus of winning or losing.

At Caravel Academy students will learn, grow and discover their potential in a challenging yet nurturing environment that fosters success and personal achievement.

Thank you again for your interest in Caravel Academy!

Sincerely,

Dr. Jerry Lamey
Head of School
