2023 AP School Honor Roll Silver member!

Picture
Caravel has been named to the 2023 AP School Honor Roll as a Silver member!  We had 49 seniors who took at least one AP exam during high school, 33 seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP exam, and 15 seniors who took five or more AP exams!

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success.

Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. The students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success. And even for those who don’t earn college credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture.

Thank you to our dedicated students, teachers, parents, counselors, and administrators for their hard work in accomplishing this status.

Congratulations National Merit Semifinalists!

We are thrilled to announce our three National Merit Semifinalists!  Sonya Pathania, Pranati Tungala, and Abijith Subramanian were named as part of the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.  These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship® award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. About 95 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and approximately half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar® title.

Congratulations to these three outstanding students (not pictured Abijith Subramanian). We are very proud of you!

 Kids Heart Challenge 2023

.

Our EEC and Lower School students had the opportunity to silly string Mrs. Harper (EEC Director), Mr. Smith (Lower School Principal) and Dr. Lamey (Head of School) in May.  Students from each division were promised this incentive if over half of our students registered for the Kids Heart Challenge in February.  Our students and families achieved this goal and helped us earn $500 in PE/Recess equipment!

Thank you to the generosity of Caravel families and friends, we  raised over $35,000 for the American Heart Association!
