Midterm Exam Schedule
Important notes regarding the schedules:
- Middle school math students taking Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II
will take their math exams during the first exam period while the upper
school students are taking their English exam.
- All seventh grade foreign language students will take their exam
during the first two periods on Friday.
- 8th grade foreign language exams will be given during their regular class periods at the discretion of their respective
teachers.
- Upper school students will only be requested to attend school during
their assigned exams.
- Homeroom for upper school students will be eliminated and the
attendance will be taken in the exam areas. All students absent will be
called and any unexcused absences will result in a grade of zero for the
exam.
- In an effort to increase the time between exams, students will remain
in the testing area for a fifteen minute wind down period following the
first exam of the day. Students will also be given a fifteen minute
period following lunch in order to review or relax prior to the second
exam.
- Mid-term exams will not be given in physical education, music or art.
Elective courses may substitute a performance assessment to be completed
during the exam period at the discretion of the instructor.

Student Athletes --- Need a
Physical Form?
The state of Delaware requires that all student athletes have a current
physical exam before they are permitted to participate in practices or
games. The link below goes to the DIAA (Delaware Interscholastic
Athletic Assn.) form page. When you click the link below you should then
click on the the Medical Forms link. You
need to print the Parent/Guardian Consent form, Medical History Form,
the Physical Examination form, and the Eligibility Reminders. You should
get the School Athlete Medical Card from the school as they are printed
on heavier paper so that they will last through the season.
All forms are .pdf files so you will need Adobe Acrobat
Reader in order to print them.
(This is a free software available for download from the following site http://www.adobe.com/)

Specialty License Plates for Caravel
Mr. Keister has applied for Specialty License
Plates from the State of Delaware. These plates are numbered from CA 1 to CA
9999. They have Caravel Academy on the plate with a logo.
Anyone interested in obtaining one of these plates should call the school or
stop in the Main Office. The cost is $35.00 (check
made payable to Caravel Academy). Specific numbers can be requested. Proceeds from license plate sales
will benefit athletic and academic activities at Caravel.
See your student's assignments
and grades on the
Web via our secure service:
Thanks to some significant improvements in our software and
computer servers, exciting possibilities for
communicating with parents, students and families via the Internet now exist through our Caravel "connection." We
are using the
Edline service to provide every teacher with a web page for each one of his/her
classes. For example, each teacher posts daily assignments,
long term assignments, and student grades. Each student (grades 5-12) has an individual account so that they can see their individual classes and
(only) their individual grade reports. Each parent (grades PreK - 12) has an individual account so they can see each of their children's classes and
grade reports. Students can only see their own grade reports; parents can only
see the grade reports of their own children. Edline maintains the security
of the site.
Students received their access codes the first
week of school. Parents of new students or those who have never activated their
accounts received their access codes during Parent
Orientation nights.
Parents who activated their accounts last year -- your screen name and password
are good for this year. If you need to change your e-mail address click on
Manage Account in the lower left-hand corner of the screen (after you log in).
