Caravel Academy believes a good match of school, student and parents is important. Therefore, we are seeking students who will feel comfortable and become successful in our academically-oriented program, and parents who are in basic agreement with Caravel's philosophy.

Admission to Caravel is based on a combination of personal interview (grades 5-12), past school performance (report cards, standardized tests, and teacher recommendations) and placement testing. Placement tests at Caravel Academy are given several times during the year. The Admissions Committee closely evaluates the placement test to determine whether an applicant will experience success at Caravel. To arrange for these tests, please call our Admissions Office. Arrangements for testing are the responsibility of the parent.

Admission procedures begin when parents or prospective students contact the school. Parents complete the application and return it with the admission fee to the Admissions Office. At the same time parents should provide Caravel Academy with the required information. Previous report cards, standardized test results, and evaluations must be provided either by the present school or parent.

After all these procedures have been completed, the Admissions Committee will evaluate all information in deciding if the applicant will be accepted to Caravel.

Before any applicant can enroll and begin attending classes proof of immunizations required by Delaware State School Law must be provided to Caravel Academy. Family Plan

The oldest child constitutes the first child in the family when calculating tuition. The rate for the second child in the family is $6,300.00 and additional children, $5,300.00.

Terms of Tuition Payment:

Caravel Academy offers three(3) types of tuition payment plans.

PLAN 1*

• $400.00, non-refundable deposit submitted with contract.
• 50% of the total tuition as specified above payable prior to September 1, 2010.
• Balance payable prior to January 15, 2011. $400.00 deposit is applied to this payment.

PLAN 2*

• $400.00, non-refundable deposit submitted with contract.
• Twelve equal payments on the first of each month from August 1, 2010 through July 1, 2011 based on the fees specified above.
• A 5% participation fee is charged for payments made under Plan 2 and calculated on the entire rate in the pertaining grade. The $400.00 deposit will be deducted on the total tuition calculated.

PLAN 3*

• $400.00, non-refundable deposit submitted with contract.
• 2% discount on payments made in full prior to September 1, 2010. $400.00 deposit is applied to this payment.

Payments that are more than 5 business days late will be subject to a $20.00 late fee. Interest will accrue at an annual rate of 18%.
